FWHCC CAPITAL ACCESS COUNCIL

The FWHCC Capital Access Council is a strategic, member-driven initiative designed to strengthen the financial ecosystem supporting Hispanic-owned and small businesses across Fort Worth and the surrounding region. The Council brings together corporate member banks, investors, and Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) to collaborate on expanding access to capital, improving financial literacy, and increasing long-term business sustainability.

Through coordinated partnerships, the Capital Access Council works to align financial products with the real-world needs of business owners at various stages of growth—from early-stage entrepreneurs to established firms seeking to scale. By fostering open communication among financial institutions and creating clear pathways to capital, the Council reduces barriers that have historically limited business growth and access to funding.

Key initiatives of the Council include mapping available financial products, developing a practical loan readiness guide, facilitating mentorship between financial professionals and business owners, and sharing ongoing insights into banking trends and funding opportunities. These efforts are designed to improve loan preparedness, strengthen relationships between lenders and borrowers, and increase approval rates among qualified businesses.

In the short and mid-term, the Capital Access Council aims to increase awareness of funding options, enhance financial knowledge, and support more businesses in successfully accessing capital. Over the long term, the Council seeks to drive measurable economic impact by improving business survival rates, supporting job creation, and strengthening the overall financial health of the Hispanic business community.

The Capital Access Council serves as both a collaborative forum and an action-oriented platform, positioning the Fort Worth Hispanic Chamber of Commerce as a trusted convener in capital access, financial education, and inclusive economic development.
