The Advocacy Committee at the Fort Worth Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (FWHCC) was launched in 2024 to address pressing issues impacting businesses and the wider community. Our mission is to champion policies and initiatives that create a thriving business environment, empower local decision-making, and build a strong workforce. Through strategic planning, impactful events, and statewide collaboration, the Advocacy Committee ensures that the voices of business owners are heard and represented at every level of government.
Our Legislative Priorities for the 89th Session
The FWHCC Advocacy Committee developed a robust State Legislative Agenda to guide our efforts during the 89th legislative session. Our key priorities include:
- Business Competitiveness: Advocating for policies that promote job creation, innovation, and capital investment to sustain Texas as a hub for business growth and retention.
- Local Government Decision-Making: Supporting the preservation of local decision-making authority to allow communities to address their unique challenges and effectively manage resources.
- Education and Workforce Development: Promoting initiatives that accelerate workforce training, increase the availability of skilled labor, and retain talent in Texas. This includes backing investments in Small Business Development Centers (SBDCs) and Chambers of Commerce to expand advising and training programs.
